About the Host Site
Shalom Park was built in the winter of 1985. It is now in its 37th year of operation and the longest serving ski site in Canada. Shalom Park has hosted several Pro Water Skiing events, the Jr World Championships in 1996 and the U 21 Worlds in 2019. An astonishing result at the U 21 Worlds was that 5 World Records were broken. It was an exciting time for everyone. Shalom Park has used an app called Mindbody for five years to register skiers for sets. This has made it easy for anyone to book a set without being a member of a club and without waiting for a long line of skiers that got to our site first. Shalom Park is recognized as one of the best ski sites in the World and we are always welcoming to new skiers.

On the Sunday of the 2022 Canadian Water Ski Championships, up to 30 slalom skiers that do not otherwise qualify to ski in the Open division will have an opportunity for a second round in an Amateur Slalom Superstars event that will precede the traditional Open divisions.
The Amateur Slalom Superstars will be comprised of two Divisions:
A U35 Division, comprised of up to fifteen (15) skiers who were 34 or younger as of January 1, 2022
A 35+ Division, comprised of up to fifteen (15) skiers who were 35 or older as of January 1, 2022
A minimum of 1⁄3 of each Division will be comprised of each sex.
Qualification for the Amateur Slalom Superstars event will be determined based on performances at the 2022 Canadian Water Ski Championships. Invitations will be given to the 15 skiers in each Division (U35 and 35+) who achieve the highest buoy count at their maximum boat speed (per WSC Rule 15.5) at the 2022 Canadian Waterski Championships.
