CANADIAN OVER 35 PAN AM TEAM SELECTED

Water Ski Canada is pleased to announce the athletes who have been selected to represent Canada at the 2021 IWWF Over 35 Pan American Water Ski Championships, October 29-31, in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. The team consists of 13 water ski athletes in four age divisions.

The team will be represented by:

U17 AND U21 CANADIAN WATER SKI TEAMS ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, ON – Water Ski Canada is pleased to announce the selection of the U17 & U21 Water Ski Teams. The teams will compete in the 18th IWWF U17 Water Ski World Championships and 10th IWWF U21 Water Ski World Championships, Aug. 22-29, at Pickos Water Ski School in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. 

National junior team coach, Cole Grant will lead the U17 team and both Drew Ross and Matt Rini will lead the U21 teams. Both teams will be managed by National Team Head Coach, Steve Bush who is looking forward to a strong showing by Team Canada – “I am excited for these teams as we have strong representation in all events. These athletes have been training hard for the past year and I know they are excited to represent Canada at the U17 and U21 World Championships”.

2021 MANOO & JEAN GURJAR SCHOLARSHIP – APPLY TODAY

Manoo Gurjar is a longtime and beloved water skier. In 2013, he continued to compete in the Men 9 category (75+), including at national championships where he consistently takes home hardware in the slalom event. Manoo’s smiling presence, friendliness, sharing of volunteer time, stories, photographs and food, have combined to make him a favourite personality at events.

GOAL OF THE LEGACY FUND: The purpose of the Legacy Fund is to provide annual financial support to the skiing and educational pursuits of one male and one female Canadian water skier annually who best represents the ideals established in honour of Manoo Gurjar. A Legacy Fund allocation of $1,000 will be allocated annually to each recipient.

CRITERIA: The skiers selected shall best exemplify the qualities and wishes of Manoo and Jean Gurjar in their regard for the sport and education.
