CANADA WINS IWWF WATER SKI WORLDS TEAM OVERALL IN PUTRAJAY, MALAYSIA

After an incredible week of competition, the final day of at the 2019 IWWF Waterski World Championships did not disappoint. With over 32 countries participating in the tournament, Team Canada walked away with the gold medal, scoring 8,025.27 overall!

Members of the 2019 Canadian Water Ski Team were:

TEAM: Ryan Dodd (AB), Dorien Llewellyn (AB), Whitney McClintock (ON), Stephen Neveu (AB), Paige Rini (ON) and Neilly Ross (ON)

INDEPENDENT: Jaimee Bull (ON), Taryn Grant (MB), Dominique Grondin-Allard (QC), Cole McCormick (ON), Alex Paradis (QC), Chantal Singer (ON) and Guillaume Tetreault. 

The team was led by National Team Head Coach Steve Bush, Assistant team Coach Cole Grant and Athletic Therapist Darren Wharrie

Ryan Dodd won gold in Open Men’s Jump, making this his 3rd World title in a row! Congratulations Ryan.

Whitney McClintock claimed the Open Women’s 3-event Overall gold medal. 
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for 10 years. After injury and so many disappointments it was hard to believe it was possible to regain the World Overall Crown” said Whitney McClintock-Rini (Nautique). Whitney also placed 4th in the women’s slalom finals with a score of 4.00/55/11.25, 6th in women’s trick finals (8320) and fifth in the women’s jump finals (49.5m (162ft))
