Hey Water Ski and Wakeboard enthusiasts! It’s time to celebrate and honor the remarkable athletes and sport builders who have left an indelible mark on the world of water sports in Canada. Public nominations for the Class of 2024 Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame are officially open, and we need your help to shine a spotlight on those who have made significant contributions to our beloved sports.
How to Nominate: If you know of an exceptional athlete or sport builder who has made a lasting impact on water skiing or wakeboarding in Canada, we encourage you to submit a nomination before the deadline on January 31, 2024. The nomination form is available here.
Criteria for Nomination: Nominees can fall into the following categories:
- Exceptional athletes who have been retired from major competition for at least four years.
- Builders demonstrating a lifetime commitment to the development of water skiing and wakeboarding in Canada.
- Deceased pioneers of Canadian water sports.
- Individuals who have made a defining contribution to their sport and/or Canadian society.
Why Nominate: Induction into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is the highest level of sports recognition in Canada. The annual induction ceremony celebrates Canadians who have achieved the highest level of accomplishment in their sport and who continue to promote Canada’s shared values beyond their athletic successes.
