NOTE FROM WATER SKI CANADA ON 2021 EVENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA/ AVIS DE SKI NAUTIQUE CANADA SUR LES COMPETITIONS 2021 ET LES CRITERES DE SELECTION

IWWF Competitions for 2021 have been posted and until notified otherwise, the events are proceeding; as such selection criteria posted by Water Ski Canada are based on the following understanding.

We appreciate that there is a tremendous amount of concern with respect to the selection of athletes to Event Teams for 2021 events.

WSWC and the High-Performance Committee want to assure all skiers that we will make every effort to ensure that Event Team selection criteria is as fair and transparent as possible to all athletes vying for spots on those Teams.

We are aware of the unique situations of each of our Athletes and The National Team Head Coach and Coaching Group will continue to communicate directly with all athletes to make sure we understand those specific situations.  We stress the importance of athletes to remain in contact with the National Team Head Coach and Coaching Group, especially where individual athlete circumstances may have changed.

We would like to encourage all skiers to train and participate in events where possible while respecting local, Provincial and Federal guidelines.

The High-Performance Committee continues to meet and monitor the situation on an ongoing basis and will provide updates to the community as needed.
