CANADIAN WATER SKI TEAM SELECTED FOR 2020 PAN AM CHAMPIONSHIPS

OTTAWA, ON – Water Ski Canada is pleased to announce its team for the 2020 IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships. Canada will send a group of 21 skiers to the Pan American Championships taking place in Boca Laguna in Chapala, Jalisco Mexico, on November 4-7.

“I am excited for this Team as we have strong representation in all events” said National Team Head Coach Steve Bush.

The team will be led by National Team Head Coach Steve Bush and supported by Junior team coach Cole Grant, Dr. Joe Quigg (medical) and Darren Wharrie (athletic therapist).

U17 AND U21 CANADIAN WATER SKI TEAMS ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, ON – Water Ski Canada is pleased to announce the selection of the U17 & U21 Water Ski Teams. The teams will compete in the 18th IWWF U17 Water Ski World Championships and 10th IWWF U21 Water Ski World Championships, Aug. 22-29, at Pickos Water Ski School in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. 

National junior team coach, Cole Grant will lead the U17 team and both Drew Ross and Matt Rini will lead the U21 teams. Both teams will be managed by National Team Head Coach, Steve Bush who is looking forward to a strong showing by Team Canada – “I am excited for these teams as we have strong representation in all events. These athletes have been training hard for the past year and I know they are excited to represent Canada at the U17 and U21 World Championships”.

    TWELVE CANADIAN SKIERS QUALIFY TO COMPETE AT THE NAUTIQUE MASTERS

    The 61st Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® will be held May 28-30, 2021. The Masters is known throughout the world as the most prestigious watersports tournament. The event began in 1959 at Callaway Gardens and is held annually during the Memorial Day weekend.

    The Robin Lake site at Callaway, built specifically for the Masters, boasts an expansive pavilion with covered stadium seating, judges’ tower and media area. The action can be seen clearly from the beach and picnic areas. The immaculately maintained gardens, lakes, resort and attractions at Callaway provide a tournament venue like no other in the world.

    The 28th Junior Masters Tournament features the world’s finest junior waterskiing and wakeboarding athletes. In lieu of prize monies, junior competitors receive trophies.

    Callaway’s Robin Lake is nestled in a serene and beautiful atmosphere. Spectators are treated to thrilling competition while lounging in a remarkable natural setting. This event attracts thousands of spectators annually and enjoys media coverage in the local and metropolitan Atlanta areas prior to and during the tournament, followed by worldwide print coverage for several months.

    Twelve Canadian skiers have qualified to complete at the Nautique Masters. This is the largest Canadian team to attend in history. Unfortunately, Ryan Dodd (a defending Champion) will not be in attending this year due to an ankle injury.
